First SVPerl LabFest January 19, 2012

This is a summary of some of the things we did and talked about, for future reference.

Things attendees worked on...

• Update event calendar code for the SVPerl web site, and any other SBAY-hosted sites, and anyone else who can use it
  • There are a lot of iCal modules
  • Here too: http://datetime.perl.org/
• cleaned up some misc code

Things we talked about...

• How does one start a CPAN module from scratch?
  • One option is to use Module::Starter
  • Or start smaller by grabbing the "new" function for your module from "perldoc perlobj", "man perlobj" or perlobj on CPAN
  • There is also advice for creation of new CPAN modules at "perldoc perlmodlib", "man perlmodlib" or perlmodlib on CPAN
